Busy Day

My day today is going to be packed with preparations for the Fourth of July. July 4th is my favorite holiday and I love to celebrate it! My parents will be spending the three-day weekend with us. We are really looking forward to having them be a part of all the 4th of July traditions that we've adopted. Since my mom and dad will be arriving late morning on Friday, I am hoping to get as many preparations as possible taken care of today.

Fourth of July Menu
Corn Dip and chips
Hamburgers and brats on the grill
Tossed salad
Watermelon slices
Old Glory Cherry Blueberry Pie a la mode
Blueberry Lemonade

While Mom and Dad are here I'll also be cooking Saturday lunch and Sunday breakfast. The other meals we'll be dining out.

Soooo...today I am hoping to get the following accomplished:

1. Bake pie
2. Bake brownies for Saturday lunch dessert
3. Make jello salad for Saturday lunch
4. Assemble hamburgers (they have fresh herbs mixed in with the meat and the patties are stuffed with bleu cheese)
5. Make corn dip
6. Make salad
7. Prep/chop ingredients for Taco Pasta Salad for Saturday's lunch

I also have some last minute housework to finish and last, but certainly not least, I need to give myself a pedicure with bright red nail polish. A girl has got to look festive for the Fourth!

Well, I'd better get started on my list...wish me luck!

Enjoy your holiday, Laura. You bring back memories of my childhood; going with 1000s of our dearest friends to City Park in Ft. Collins, seeing the display.

Cross your fingers that our rain will go away. We've had delightful weather until today!

I so enjoy the 4th, too. Thanks for your recipes.
