Works for Me Wednesday - USPS.com

I don't know why, but for some reason our local post office and I do not get along. I have had several less-than-ideal experiences there, and I don't find the employees at our particular branch to be very helpful. In fact, I try to avoid it as much as possible.

So imagine my delight when I discovered I could purchase postage stamps online at USPS.com. These aren't the stamps that you buy using your own personal photographs. I'm talking about the exact same stamps you purchase at your post office.

Once at the USPS homepage, you click on "Buy stamps and shop," which takes you to the postal store.

One of the things I love about the site is that they sell the entire selection of postage stamps in all the denominations and they don't sell out of certain designs. This comes in especially handy around Christmas.

My favorite thing about shopping from this site is that no matter the size of your order, the shipping and handling is only $1.00. With gas prices these days, I'll gladly pay $1.00 for the convenience of having my stamps delivered directly to my mailbox.

Buying postage stamps at USPS.com works for me!

Great idea. I haven't done this one yet, although I did know about it. I have had similar experiences with my local post office branch - luckily our local video store is now an off-site branch and the employees there are just great - best of all there are usually no lines for the post office part of the store!

I love purchasing stamps online! Plus for only $1.00 it is cheaper than driving there!

I love that tip! I, too, despise our post office. I don't use stamps very often anymore with most things done online, but I will keep this in mind the next time I need them!

This was a great reminder for me. I ordered the stamps I used for my wedding invitations on-line, but haven't really thought to do so since. Thanks!

That is a great tip! We used to have an automated machine in th elobby of our Post Office and for some reason they chose to take it out. I loved being able to avoid the lines and buy the postage from the machine.

Out here in my semi-rural neck of the woods, the post office is way out of my way...all the time. So this is a great alternative for me!

I love this at Christmas time when the lines are long and my patience is thin!

I also just used USPS.com to put a hold on my mail while we're gone. Easy peasy...
